Teddy graham coated French toast.

One Day I didn't have any cinnamon, but I had cinnamon Teddy grahams so I used those to coat the French toast with it.
Serving for 2 people:
What you need:
-4 pieces of bread
-2 eggs
-1/2-1 cup of crushed cinnamon teddy grahams
-1-2 tbs of butter
1.) Melt butter on medium to medium high heat.
2.) Put crushed teddy grahams in a bowl and in a separate bowl put eggs in and scramble.
3.) Once butter is melted dip bread into egg and then into crushed teddy grahams. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
4.) When it's done cooking you can serve with syrup or eat it plain. Whatever your preference is.
I hope you try it and enjoy it.
Let me know if you made it and how you liked it.

Kids Birthday Shirt, Skirt and Headband.

My daughter's birthday is this month. And I wanted to make her something special for her birthday.

What you'll need for shirt:
-Long sleeved shirt.
-Anything to decorate it. (I used lace trim from old socks, fabric from old shirts and a permanent marker. They have a large variety of things to decorate at a craft stores, but I just used what I had around the house.
- Sharp scissors
-And some kind of fabric glue ( I used mighty mends) Or if you can sew you can sew it on.
-Short sleeved shirt

How to: I placed all of the decorations on there**no gluing yet** to see where it looked good at. After I found the best placement I glued it down. I used a short sleeve shirt as a guide so I would know where to cut the sleeves. I guess you can just guesstimate, but I wanted to be more accurate. Then I took a pen and traced where the sleeves fell. Then I cut the sleeves. Save the cut off part of the sleeve. It will be used for the headband. You can give a more finished look to the sleeve by adding a lace trim, but I didn't have any. So I just left it the way it was.

The skirt:
What you need:
-pair of pants
-scissors
-needle and thread or fabric glue.
I took the pants laid them out on the floor making sure they were even. Then I took a scissor and cut right below the crotch of the pants and cut both legs making sure it was even all around. On the pair of pants I had it had a floral trim at the bottom of the pants so I cut about an inch above the trim on both pant legs and then cut vertically on the seam and pieced them as trim on the bottom of the skirt. I tried using the fabric glue, but it didn't stay that well after washing it so I'm going to sew it on. Then i frayed the edges with the sharp side of the scissor. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Note: If you don't have anything to trim the bottom of the skirt you'll need to cut right above the crotch of the pants. The only thing is it may be a little to short, that's why I trimmed mine.

The headband:
What you need:
-thin plastic headband
-fabric from the long sleeved shirt
-scissors
How to:
Take the sleeve of the shirt and cut vertically on the seam and completely cut the seam out. then take the fabric with the pattern facing the floor and fold vertically. Pinch in the center of the material to form a bow. You may need to trim the bow down if the fabric is too long. Take the seam that you cut off earlier and use it to rap around the middle to form the bow and tie in the back.Making sure it's tied really tight. And cut off any excess that may be hanging so it looks neat. Now carefully slide the head band along the back of the bow where it is gathered in the middle. You could probably secure it even better by putting a dab of hot glue in the back. But mine was tight enough.

Homemade bug repellent for a vegetable garden.

I just started trying to garden. And I found a recipe online for an organic bug repellent.

The recipe:
-3 Jalapeno pepper(or any hot pepper)
-2 cups of water
- a couple of squirts of soap or dish detergent****DO NOT USE ANY THAT HAS BLEACH****
-Spray bottle

You take the water and peppers put them in a blender and blend them together. I do not recommend putting the soap in while you are blending because mine foamed all up. Then you strain the mixture with a mesh strainer and a funnel into a spray bottle. Then add the soap. Secure spray lid tightly and shake together.

How to you: Spray liberally all over plant. The front and back of the leaves.

I just made it today and used it, so I will let you know how it works.`

DIY Flower barrette.

What you need:
-a barrette
-a silk flower
-hot glue gun
-scissors
-wire cutters

How to: If your silk flower is attached to a stem you need to cut it off the stem. You may need the wire cutter for that. I didn't have to use the wire cutter on mine, it just popped off the stem. Use your hot glue gun and apply glue to the barrette, trying not to use too much. If you use too much it will make a huge mess when you press the flower down. So after you apply the glue, press the flower there, making sure it's even, until the glue has set for about 20 sec. Then let it sit and dry. And there you have your own homemade flower barrette. Note: You can buy really cute cheap flowers at the dollar tree, you may even find some barrettes there that you can use. If not you could probably get them at Michael's, wal-mart or really any craft store. I had mine lying around the house. You could even use an old barrette that you don't like any more.

And this is not a website, but if you're on a budget and you don't mind your kids wearing gentle used clothes, there is a great store here in Jacksonville called Once upon a child. It's where I have bought my little girls clothes since she was born and I love it there! And I also love it because it's family owned. So I hope this helps you out.

Beaded kids earrings.

What you need:
-earring post or hooks( I got these from earrings that I don't wear anymore)
-beads( I used multi color beads)
-wire
-wire cutters
-needle nose pliers

How to: First you measure how much wire you might need. I used about 2 inches. Then you thread the beads on to the wire. After you have threaded them you take the ends of the wire and put them into the hole of the earring post going in opposite directions. Then you twist the ends together either with your fingers or the needle nose pliers. And there you have a cute little pair of earrings for your little girl. Note: they do have colored wire and all different style beads, but I just used what I had lying around the house. So let your imagination run wild.
